I must confess I've spent the majority of my life being concerned with what others think of me. I've suffered from approval addiction and the need to please. Proverbs 29:25 tells us that the fear of man brings a snare. At times I have not been true to myself. At times I have compromised my standards because I wanted to fit in or because I feared rejection. I have struggled with the "fear of man". It is a bondage that has kept me from being the woman God intended me to be. I need more moments of solitude so that I can be alone with myself and God--so I can discover who I am and learn how to be confident in who God made me to be.
