In this day and age where there is so much deception--even within the church--it is so important to know the truth. I believe if we are deeply rooted in God's Word then it won't be as easy to be led away by a spirit of error. I believe we as Christians need to be on the lookout for humanistic ways of thinking that try to mirror themselves as truth but do not acknowledge God as Lord. Humanism wants us to think that there is good in mankind and that we can become better through our own efforts and through reasoning. But the Bible tells us that in us dwells no good thing--that the heart is deceitful above all things. We cannot become good by thinking good thoughts and doing good things. We can only become good through the power of the Holy Spirit and the cleansing water of the Word.
